Every villager has a friendship level shown as hearts, up to 10. Friendship is tracked separately for each villager and caps at 10 hearts.

* '''Gift''' once a day. How much it is worth depends on their taste: a loved gift gives the most, a liked gift a solid amount, a neutral item a little, and a disliked gift actually lowers friendship.

== Heart milestones ==
As your hearts climb, you reach milestones that unlock things tied to that villager's trade: new [[Crafting|crafting recipes]], one-off item rewards, a cosmetic at max hearts, and short heart events that reveal who they are.

Beyond daily chats, each villager has a 10-part [[Quests|story questline]] that unfolds as you befriend them. The quests weave in tasks tied to their specialty and gradually reveal more of their character.
